Web Feet Beach Boutique in Atlantic City full of colors, design and creativity
ATLANTIC CITY— The outside of the Web Feet Beach Boutique looks like the rundown shack it once was. But inside, visitors find colorful clothing, jewelry, artwork and essential items for summer at the shore. Reggae music plays on the sound system, and shoppers are likely to be greeted by Romeo, the owner’s poodle mix.
The boutique specializes in handmade clothing from Nepal for women and children, most of it fair traded, many are original design,” The advantage is you won’t see anyone else wearing the same thing. The Nepalese clothing, as well as beaded jewelry and shirts with peace symbols, are big sellers, as hippie culture seems to be making a comeback, “It’s all about colors . . people smile when they see bright colors.”
Web Feet also sells sunglasses — from pricey designer brands to fun shades for doggies— jewelry and handbags. There is a men’s department with artist Guy Harvey’s fish designed clothing . . . a big hit with anglers who are plentiful at the Basin. Other Brands include Salt Life, Body Glove Rainbow Sandals and David Dunleavey.
Upstairs is an collection of consignment are, with shore-themed paintings, prints, photographs and sculptures. Consignments add the perfect touch to a customers keepsake.
Most of our customers are tourists, coming from the resorts’ Inlet section and some folks arrive by boat from Brigantine.
Meanwhile, the shop is open weekends now and will be open seven days a week starting in May.
